Charlene Nicole Childers

January 18, 1983 - June 29, 2019

Charlene Nicole Childers, 36 of South Point, OH passed away June 29, 2019.  She was born January 18, 1983 in Cedartown, GA a daughter of Johnny Lee (Mike) Childers of Norfolk, VA and Katie Marie Nichols-Higginbotham.  She was preceded in death by her paternal grandmother, Juanita Childers, paternal great grandparents, Rupert and Evelyn Childers and maternal great grandparents, Charles and Maxine Nichols.  Charlene was a 2001 graduate of South Point High School and an EMT and former firefighter with South Point Volunteer Fire Department.  She was of the Christian faith and attended 1^st Baptist Church of South Point.  In addition to her parents, is survived by her son, Garrett Allen Childers of South Point, OH; a sister, Rebecca (Jonathan) Martin of Ashland, KY; 3 brothers, Ben Childers of Chicago, IL, Alex Childers and Joseph Childers both of Davenport, IA; 2 nieces, Ceselie and Evony Martin, a nephew, Cody Shafer; a special uncle, Rupert Childers; grandfather, Ronald Childers; and special friends, Jeff and Sue Gillum of South Point, OH.  A memorial service will be held 11 AM Saturday, July 6, 2019 at Slack and Wallace Funeral Home, South Point, OH.  The family will receive friends from 10 AM to 11 AM Saturday, July 6, 2019 at the funeral home.  Condolences to the family may be expressed at www.slackandwallace.com.
